I am running for City Council because we are growing and we need to be able to leverage that energy to make our community stronger. Our present leaders have helped pave the way to where we are today; at the gateway to a period of significant growth. With it comes a lot of opportunities to enhance how we live, work, play and share in our community. At the same time, there will be new challenges; increased demand for public services such as water, schools, public safety and roads. Of course, there are existing challenges like finding local amenities for our families, safe roads and sidewalks, high water costs, self-segregation, town center identity, etc. I believe that with sound judgement and a spirit of collaboration, we can harness this energy and momentum to make ours a vibrant community for the current and future families and businesses that choose to call Cornelius home.
We have to do what we can to help wherever and whenever it is possible for us to help.
My worldview and values have been shaped by my upbringing, education, public service and career. I believe in compassion, tolerance and service to the community. In my role as city councilor, my decisions will be framed by the following convictions:
In this time of growth and change, a vote for me will ensure that our City of Cornelius harnesses the energy of our past, present and future to truly make this Oregon’s Family Town.
